Are you Worrying about How to pray or what to pray

How much time do you spend worrying if you are praying right or what should your prayer include? Is it too short, too long, or spoken elegant enough?

I have always been at awe when witnessing someone pray with the most elegant words through a voice that is just mesmerizing, and wondering why my prayers don’t possess those traits.

Through my spiritual journey, I’ve learned you don’t need an elegant long impressive prayer to reach God. You just need a sincere heart and a moment of your time talking to God through prayer.

“And when you pray, do not use vain repetitions as the heathen do. For they think that they will be heard for their many words. Therefore do not be like them. For your Father knows the things you have need of before you ask Him. Matthew 6:7-8″

I know it’s a distraction of the enemy, causing us to focus on things that do not hinder our prayers from reaching God, except us not praying and trusting God to hear and answer our prayers, and no matter how we speak or the words we chose.

However, knowing this doesn’t stop our prayer battle. In this war of the mind, we have to encourage and support one another.

…So I’m starting today by sharing a few bible verses and prayers with you.

Today, I am honored to share a few Bible verses and my prayers with you. I pray they provide you comfort, guidance, and peace.

…So, if you’ve struggled in the past with prayer, struggle no longer, look no further, I’ve comprised 4 simple prayers just for you, along with the structure for how to pray.

Although focusing on how to pray, come in 2nd to you must settle the issues with prayer, that is, you must believe in the power of prayer, the impact prayer has on your life, and possess a willingness to become familiar with God’s structure for prayer.

The more time you spend with God in prayer, you will begin to develop a personal relationship with God and will become comfortable talking to God in prayer. Now let’s discuss the structure of prayer.

Bible verse with simple prayers for guidance

God, through scripture, has provided a structure for prayer to facilitate the path we take when attempting to speak to Him in prayer.

…Nevertheless, there’s this sin issue we must address first before we go to God in prayer.

…Seeing that we all sin continually, causing us to fall short in God’s eyes, repentance should always be a priority when we pray to God

First, I truly believe that every prayer should begin by asking God for forgiveness and repentance for our sins.

…According to scripture, we can not connect with God unless we have a repentant heart.

And seeing that we all sin continually, causing us to fall short in God’s eyes, therefore forgiveness should always be a priority when praying to God.

“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.1 John 1:9 NIV”

Repentance of our sins places us in good standings with God. Only then can we pray a sincere prayer.

With that been said…

…Now we can focus on the model prayer Jesus established for guidance when speaking God in prayer.

…The basic structure of the model prayer teaches to give reverence to God, ask for forgiveness as you forgive others, trust God’s guidance and protection.

According to scripture (Luke 11:1-4), Jesus said to pray in this manner, which is the foundation for how we show reverence to God and establish our standings with Him before we pray for guidance.

“1.And it came to pass, that, as he was praying in a certain place, when he ceased, one of his disciples said unto him, Lord, teach us to pray, as John also taught his disciples. 2. And he said unto them, When ye pray, say, Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, as in heaven, so in earth. 3. Give us day by day our daily bread. 4. And forgive us our sins; for we also forgive every one that is indebted to us. And lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from evil” Luke 11:1-4

Secondly, a simple yet important mistake often made concerning prayer is that we fail to realize prayer builds your relationship with God.

…Therefore, if you are building a relationship, honesty is the best policy.

Now don’t misunderstand, God already knows your sins, but He wants you to be honest and confess them to Him.

So when you pray your conscience is free from sin and there is nothing between you and God.

Finally, the foundation which your relationship with God is established must come from righteousness and the only way that we can attempt  to be righteous with God is to be in line with his word and his word says

  • come to him with a pure heart
  • come to him with a clean heart
  • come to him with repentance

establishing a relationship with God through a clear conscience confirms why asking forgiveness should always be the beginning of every prayer.

I know what you are thinking, yep every prayer should begin by asking for forgiveness because more than likely we have all sinned since the last time we prayed.

Sin and Prayer

I truly believe that the beginning of every prayer should begin by asking God for forgiveness.

According to scripture, we can not connect with God unless we have a forgiven heart. And seeing that we all sin continually, causing us to fall short in God’s eyes, forgiveness should always be the first priority when we pray to God

Health and Prayer

Lord, we first ask forgiveness for our sins and we thank you for all you have done and who you are in our lives.

Lord, we pray today for good health, to encounter doctors who are spirit lead, who put You first in their lives and always ask for your guidance.

Lord, please remove any uncertainty we are feeling concerning our health, for we know You are the number one doctor.

We thank You today for our healing, in Jesus’s name, Amen

Strength and Prayer

Lord, we first ask forgiveness of our sins and we thank You for all You’ve done in our lives thus far.

Lord, we are asking for strength where we are weak, understanding where we lack knowledge, and patience when we are anxious.

Lord, we are praying for a peace of mind as we surrender all our issues to You.

For even when we are weary, we know we can depend on You.

Lord we surrender all to You, in the name of Jesus, Amen

Guidance and Prayer

Lord, we first ask forgiveness of our sins and we thank you for all you have done and Who you are in our lives. But today we are seeking counsel for guidance, understanding, and patience.

Lord, it’s not that we don’t have faith, it’s the process of waiting for You to manifest your blessings in our lives, we struggle with.

We Love you today and, we thank You in Advance for all Your blessings, gs, Amen

Uncertainty and Prayer

Lord, we first ask forgiveness, ss of our sins and we thank you for all you have done in our lives, thus far.

Lord, I pray today for guidance for how I view my accomplishments.
